The Department of Defense has identified 3,387 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans yesterday:

CONNELL, James D. Jr., 40, Sgt. First Class, Army; Lake City, Tenn.; 10th Mountain Division.

COURNEYA, Daniel W., 19, Pfc., Army; Nashville, Mich.; 10th Mountain Division.

KLASNO, Rhys W., 20, Specialist, Army; Riverside, Calif.; 1114th Transportation Company.

MURPHY, Christopher E., 21, Pfc., Army; Lynchburg, Va.; 10th Mountain Division.

SELF, John T., 29, Staff Sgt., Air Force; Pontotoc, Miss.; 314th Security Forces Squadron.
